Visa on Arrival (VOA)

Persons eligible to apply are:

• Frequently travelled Business Persons of International Repute
• Executives of Multi-national Companies
• Members of Government Delegations
• Holders of United Nations Laissez-Passer
• Holders of African Union Laissez-Passer
• Holders of ECOWAS Laissez-Passer
• Holders of any other Official travel documents of other recognized International Organizations who intend to visit Nigeria.

However, Visa on Arrival is available to citizens of all countries except ECOWAS Nationals who do not require a visa to enter Nigeria and other countries which Nigeria has entered into visa abolition agreements.

Requirements For Visa on Arrival:

Write a formal letter to the Comptroller General (CG) NIS Abuja with letter headed paper, stating the requirements below.

• Name of the applicant indicating Nationality
• Passport Number
• Purpose of visit
• Proposed Date of Visit
• Proposed Port of Entry
• Flight Itinerary
• Address of Host In Nigeria or Hotel Reservation.
• Copy of Passport Biodata Page.
• Copy of Airline Return Ticket Reservation
• Processing fees

On arrival, applicant should walk to the Visa on Arrival counter for payment.

Applying for visa on arrival would include the following steps:

• Obtainment of VOA approval letter by applying either through email, in person or application by a representative in Nigeria.
• Payment for Visa on Arrival
• Immigration clearance at the Port of Entry with the hard copy of the following documents:
• Visa Approval Letter (Pre-approved visa letter), valid for 14 days from the date of issuance
• Evidence of online payment
• Valid Passport with a minimum of six months validity
• Valid return ticket
• Two recent passport sized photographs
