The journalist visa is a short term work visa for employees in the media, press and radio sectors who are abroad for journalistic purposes. After going through with the interview process, you have to wait for your doscuments to be accessed and visa to be processed. Generally, the journalist or I visa is processed within 10 days after your application.
The journalist visa is issued for the period that you will have to work in the US This means that if your work contract states that you will need to be in the US as a journalist for 4 months, then your visa will be valid for only 4 months.
